Thank you to the 1000's of spectators who joined us throughout the week's events. Participants from businesses, churches, youth groups and community organizations; you make this a true community festival-a celebration of our community and its citizens. Maple Grove Days is unique in this way and you make it special,
thank you. To our sponsors you make it possible, we are grateful for your support! To the hundreds of volunteers, it takes many hands to bring the festival to life, we appreciate your gift of time, energy and enthusiasm. To the Maple Grove Days volunteer committee members and your families, thank you for the months of planning, your time and your dedication. You are all the best!
To the spectators and participants of Thursday night's parade, we thank you sharing in the fun despite the on and off drizzle.
Friday and Saturday provided gorgeous weather for the record crowds that turned out to enjoy all of the activities.
A special thank you to all those who stopped by to express their enjoyment of the festival, your kind and supportive words are appreciated by all of us who have worked any hours to make this festival what it is.
Although our calm weather did not hold out through the completion of Saturday's events, many of you stayed to cheer on the fireworks display. You made the best of a wet situation by watching from your cars, under an umbrella or simply dancing in the rain.
It truly was a challenging and difficult decision to continue the fireworks presentation as planned. This is a responsibility we do not take lightly. We rely on a team of qualified individuals and the information we are provided by emergency response team, the National Weather Service and firework technician to make the best decision possible. We apologize for any inconvenience, safety concerns or the disappointment due to our decision.
With the completion of Sunday's events Maple Grove Days 2016 comes to a close. This has been another year of spectacular highlights, heartfelt memories, and learning experiences. We will take all of these with us as we begin our journey planning for Maple Grove Days 2017.
